The toolkit · Beyond the table

A venue, not just a table

Start with seating, then bring the whole room to life — stages, dance floors, bars — all on one seamless canvas.

Table

Round tables

Eight, ten, twelve. Seats orbit the perimeter automatically, staying evenly spaced as you adjust the count.

Rectangular tables

Banquet runs and head tables. Set seats per side — top, bottom, left, right — and the layout keeps its proportions.

  4. Lesson 4

    ~1 min

  5. Lesson 5

    ~1 min

    Snap. Everything lines up.

Drag a table near another and SeatPlan's snap guides pull it into perfect alignment. Learn the magnet toggle and how to bypass snapping when you need to.

  6. Lesson 6

    ~1 min

    Now seat your guests

Add guests, search the list, and drag each guest onto a chair — chairs light up as drop targets and the guest list tracks who's still unseated.

  7. Lesson 7

    ~1 min

    Change your mind? Just drag.

Drag a seated guest to any chair: an empty chair moves them, an occupied chair swaps the two guests, and dropping on open canvas unseats them — the guest list keeps up.

  8. Lesson 8

    ~1 min

Click a chair, type a name

Click any empty chair to open a guest search right on the canvas — type a few letters, click the name, seated. Clicking an occupied chair removes its guest, so watch for the tooltip.

  9. Lesson 9

    ~1 min

    Plan together. Live.

Invite up to 2 collaborators to co-edit your seating plan live: send an email invite, optionally require a passcode, and manage active and pending invites.

  10. Lesson 10

    ~1 min

    "Where am I sitting?"

Share a QR seat finder link so guests type their name and instantly see their table and seat — set it up from the designer in under a minute.
