The toolkit · Beyond the table
A venue, not just a table
Start with seating, then bring the whole room to life — stages, dance floors, bars — all on one seamless canvas.
Table
Round tables
Eight, ten, twelve. Seats orbit the perimeter automatically, staying evenly spaced as you adjust the count.
Auto seat layout
Table
Rectangular tables
Banquet runs and head tables. Set seats per side — top, bottom, left, right — and the layout keeps its proportions.

The lessons · In learning order
Ten lessons, start to seated
Work through them in order, or jump straight to the tool you need. Every lesson has an animated demo of the real designer.
Lesson 1
Start here~1 minCreate a table
Create your first table in under a minute: drop it on the canvas, pick a shape, set the seats, name it. No signup needed — then keep going with the rest of the Learn SeatPlan lessons.

~1 minMove the table, not the map
Two kinds of drag in the SeatPlan designer: drag the move handle to move a table, drag empty canvas to pan the whole layout. One-minute animated lesson.

~1 minSpecial areas: design beyond seating
Add dance floors, stages, bars, and buffets with Special Areas: name the area, pick a color, then place, resize, and rotate it on the canvas. Animated lesson.

~1 minChair rows: 32 chairs in two clicks
Create theater-style seating fast: set rows and chairs per row and SeatPlan places every row for you — each row stays its own element you can move, edit, and rotate independently.
Open the lessonLesson 5
~1 minSnap. Everything lines up.
Drag a table near another and SeatPlan's snap guides pull it into perfect alignment. Learn the magnet toggle and how to bypass snapping when you need to.
Open the lessonLesson 6
~1 minNow seat your guests
Add guests, search the list, and drag each guest onto a chair — chairs light up as drop targets and the guest list tracks who's still unseated.
Open the lessonLesson 7
~1 minChange your mind? Just drag.
Drag a seated guest to any chair: an empty chair moves them, an occupied chair swaps the two guests, and dropping on open canvas unseats them — the guest list keeps up.
Open the lessonLesson 8
~1 minClick a chair, type a name
Click any empty chair to open a guest search right on the canvas — type a few letters, click the name, seated. Clicking an occupied chair removes its guest, so watch for the tooltip.
Open the lessonLesson 9
~1 minPlan together. Live.
Invite up to 2 collaborators to co-edit your seating plan live: send an email invite, optionally require a passcode, and manage active and pending invites.
Open the lessonLesson 10
~1 min"Where am I sitting?"
Share a QR seat finder link so guests type their name and instantly see their table and seat — set it up from the designer in under a minute.
