SeatPlan.io goes 3D

Press one button and your seating chart stands up in 3D, as a room you can orbit. Look along the tables and check who sits where.

Scroll to open this chart in 3D

  1. Every table stands where you drew it.
  2. See the top table the way the room will.
  3. Point at a chair to see who sits there.
  4. The dance floor, the DJ and the bar take their places too.

Your chart already has a room in it.

How to see your seating chart in 3D

  1. Draw your chart

Add your tables, import your guest list and seat everyone in the designer, the way you always have.

  2. Press 3D

The button sits at the top of the canvas, on a laptop and on a phone. The room opens full screen.

  3. Look around

Drag to orbit and scroll to zoom. Overview and Plan jump to a set view. Hover a chair, or tap it on a phone, to see who sits there.

Nothing to rebuild

The room is drawn from your chart: the same tables, the same seats and the same names, where you put them. You still make changes in 2D. The 3D view is for looking, and it always shows the chart as it is now.

Light enough for an old laptop

Nothing extra loads until you press the button, and the room only draws while the camera moves. If a device can’t run it, you see a short message and your 2D chart stays exactly as it was.

3D comes with Pro, Collaborate and Event Manager

Designing your chart is free. The 3D view is part of every paid plan, alongside saving, exports and full guest names. Planning lots of events? See Event Manager.

Questions about the 3D view

How do I open my seating chart in 3D?

Open your chart in the SeatPlan.io designer and press the 3D button at the top of the canvas. The room opens full screen, and closing it takes you back to your chart.

Which plans include the 3D view?

Pro, Collaborate and Event Manager. On the free plan the 3D button carries a crown, and pressing it shows what upgrading unlocks. Anyone you invite to edit a paid chart can open it in 3D too.

Do I have to rebuild my chart in 3D?

No. The room is built from the chart you already drew: the same tables, the same seats and the same guest names, in the same places.

Can I move tables in the 3D view?

Not yet. The 3D view is for looking. You still move tables and seat guests in the 2D designer, and the room shows your changes.

Does the 3D view work on a phone or tablet?

Yes. The 3D button is in the mobile designer too. Drag with one finger to orbit, pinch to zoom, and tap a chair to see who sits there.

What if my computer can't run it?

The 3D view needs WebGL 2, which nearly every browser from the last few years has. If your device can't run it, you see a short message and your 2D chart stays exactly as it was.

Can I see a wedding seating chart in 3D?

Yes. Any chart you draw in SeatPlan.io opens in 3D: weddings, parties, galas and banquets. Round tables, the top table, chair rows for the ceremony, the dance floor, the bar and the stage all stand where you put them.

Why is it called Beta?

Because we are still adding to it. If there is something you would like to see in the room, email hi@seatplan.io.
