Accessibility statement

SeatPlan.io is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the standard. The known limitations are listed in section 3.

• Animations and transitions are switched off when your operating system or browser asks for reduced motion.
• Public marketing and legal pages always render in a fixed light theme, so their colours are predictable regardless of the app's dark-mode setting.

These were found in an automated audit (axe-core) of the homepage, the classroom seating chart page, the designer and the school legal pages on 10 September 2026, together with limitations we know from the product's design:

• Accent-coloured text on the cream background (the coral eyebrow labels, the header Log in link, orange badges and primary buttons) measures between 2.3:1 and 3.6:1, below the 4.5:1 that WCAG 1.4.3 requires for normal text and the 3:1 it requires for large text. This affects the homepage, the classroom seating chart page and the school legal pages.
• Some muted grey text on the classroom seating chart page measures 3.1:1 against the cream background, below 4.5:1.
• One decorative emphasised word on the homepage carries an aria-label that is not permitted on that element (WCAG 4.1.2).
• The audit tool measured the footer links against the cookie banner that overlaps the footer on first visit rather than against the footer's dark background. We are confirming the footer's own contrast separately.
• The seating chart designer is a pointer-driven canvas. The automated audit could only evaluate its loading screen, so the canvas itself has not been audited and we have not yet verified that seats can be arranged using a keyboard alone.

We are working through this list and will update the statement as items are fixed.

United States. Public schools and districts that receive federal funding must meet Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and many also apply Section 508 standards to the software they procure. This statement is written so that a school can record SeatPlan.io's current status in its own accessibility review. We do not yet publish a VPAT; contact us if you need one for a procurement.
