What Zola's seating chart does

Zola's seating chart is part of its wedding planning platform. You drag round or rectangular tables onto the plan, set the seat count, and choose from round, 1-sided, 2-sided and 4-sided table shapes. Confirmed guests are pulled in from your Zola guest list, and you can tag them by meal choice, dietary restriction or a custom label.

It works on a computer and in the Zola iOS app, and a chart started on one syncs to the other. When the plan is done, Zola lets you download it as a PDF or an Excel sheet to print or share with your venue.

How much the Zola seating chart costs

You can try it free for up to 15 guests. To add more guests you unlock the Premium Version, which Zola lists at $14.99 on its blog and in the App Store. Most weddings have more than 15 guests.

SeatPlan.io works the other way round. The whole designer is free with no guest or table cap and no signup, so you can seat everyone first. You pay once only when you want to save the chart and export it, and the price for your country is shown below.

When SeatPlan.io is the better fit

Stay on Zola if your guest list, RSVPs and stationery already live there and your plan is simple. Use SeatPlan.io if you want to build the room from your venue's floor plan, plan on Android or any browser, edit with a partner or planner at the same time, hand the caterer an Excel seat list, or give guests a QR code that shows them their table.

You don't have to choose up front. Zola lets you download your guest list from a computer, and SeatPlan.io imports that file in a minute, so you can keep Zola for RSVPs and plan the seating here.

  • Built for weddings, with no setup for classrooms, corporate dinners or conferences
